* BUMPER *
V1.3
A simple program to produce characters readable from a good distance,
suitable for BUMPER stickers. Also makes pretty good signs.
(For IBM PC, XT and true compatables.)
Copyright 1988 by Steve Stout
BUMPER is amazingly simple to use. Put the diskette containing BUMPER.EXE
in your default drive (or copy to your hard disk) then type BUMPER<enter>.
After the program is loaded, a sign-on screen appears for a few seconds with a
short explaination of the program. The main menu screen then replaces the
first screen offering several choices: Info Make Print and Quit. Any of these
choices can be made either by using the arrow keys to highlight your choice
then pressing the enter key or by pressing the first letter I, M, P or Q.
The Info selection gives a single screenfull of information about BUMPER.
The Make selection asks what you want on your BUMPER sticker.
The Print selection presents you with two more choices:
These choices are made the same way, with arrows and enter or by the
first letter S or P.
Setup - Information and instructions on how to customize BUMPER for your
particular brand/model of printer. The default setup should work
with most printers but if it doesn't, check this out.
Print - Print out your BUMPER sticker.
The Quit selection returns you to DOS.
Using white Contact paper to print on and clear Contact paper as a cover
will produce a durable BUMPER sticker, one that you can change at your whim.
On its initial use, BUMPER will look on the default drive for a file called
BUMPER.DTA containing the printer configuration and not finding it, will create
it. Each time you use BUMPER after that, the printer configuration data will
be taken from this file. An easy way to return to the default printer config-
uration after changing it is to delete BUMPER.DTA. Next time you run BUMPER,
the data file will not be found and will be recreated with the default values.
I guarantee BUMPER.EXE will do nothing useful at all. You use it at your
own risk. This program is user-supported software and is protected by copy-
right. You may make an evaluation copy for trial use on a private, non-
commercial basis. You are encouraged to copy this program and pass it on to
your friends with the following restrictions:
1> You must copy all the files (BUMPER.EXE, BUMPER.DOC & BUMPER.BUG or
BUMPER.ARC) intact, without modification.
2> You must not charge any fee for the program.
If you find this software usefull, the author would appreciate your sending
a contribution of twenty dollars. Users that contribute will receive a copy
of the latest version when available. Your comments and suggestions are also
welcomed (see BUMPER.BUG).
